I love looking through all the must have lists for fall.  As a mommy, some of them don't make a lot of sense (pointy high heel boots: I could never catch my toddler in these!), but some are great: like this chunky cardigan with 3/4 sleeves.  It will make an easy transition sweater as the days cool down and the neck provides lots of interesting looks!

It's also long enough that I know my tummy won't peek out the bottom.

Going Out! One Hot Dress With Many Looks

In recent years, a fun dress hit the racks that lets the wearer arrange the straps for many different looks.  The first ones I saw in the store were over $300, but this one from Lulu's is just $46!  Unlike the sarong you bought on vacation and the clerk convinced you could be worn as a dress, top, cover up, etc but you just tied it around your waist because you couldn't replicate a single thing outside of the dressing room -- this dress is easy!  Check out the pics on the website for different looks, and I promise these can be easily replicated in your own home.  Now, this is a going-out-to-dinner dress and not a take-the-kids-to-the-park dress but the flexibility to make it look like several outfits all for just $46 may make it easier to justify!

I love clothes that are as comfortable as they are stylish.  One of the key things for me as a mama to two small children is that I be able to put on my clothes and then not think about them again until the end of the day...but look great the whole time.  SoftSurroundings.com has some interesting options that fit my requirements!  One of my favorites are these beautiful boots with vintage styling.  I love the look of tall boots over jeans and these are nearly perfect: low heeled with great details.  They are outside my usual limit of $100 (at $168) but some things are worth a little extra and leather boots for less than $200 can be considered a steal!

Carry It All! Cute Tote for Fall for $44

Falling Temperatures: Layer Up!

At the beginning of last fall, I invested in a down vest and fleece jacket.  I had been eyeing them for awhile and I am so glad I made the leap.  I loved being able to put on one or the other depending upon the ever changing temperatures of fall and was able to layer them as it got cooler in November and early December.  Lands' End has some great pairings for reasonable prices.  My favorites are this Dory Vest in black (super thin and sleek) plus the Sweater Fleece Hoodie Jacket (love the sweater look with the softness of fleece).
