Lulus.com is offering 15% off everything on their site with code BARGAIN (though Bargainist.com) good thru 8/1/09.  I love this pair of pants called Amelia Earhart Gauchos.  First, what female isn't fascinated by the legend of Ms. Earhart?  Independent + adventurous = just plain cool in my book.  Also, these capris are just about the most stylish pair I have ever seen.  While the average pair of capris can push a mom down the slippery slope into cliche territory, these just scream chic!  The linen plus cotton blend will mean a few wrinkles but also keep you cool as July and August approach.  AND they are just $31.60 with the discount - WOW!

L.A. Stylist Mom recently pointed me toward a great store: Artfulwears.com.  Their clothing is all simple but with unique twists that are almost sculptural in some of the lines.  This dress is stylish but practical enough to wear everyday -- and it's on sale!  Navigating the site can be some what tricky but check out some of these designers: XCVI, A to Z, Cordelia, Language Los Angeles, Hanna and In the Wash.

Recent Purchase: The Perfect Wallet

A few months ago, my old wallet was limping along.  It barely snapped closed and the strap was hanging by a thread.  It was scraped and worn.  It was not something I liked pulling out of my bag.  Then I discovered my favorite wallet ever.  This little clutch is just plain cute (I get compliments for store clerks regularly!).  It has a good number of slots for cards (but not so many that I get carried away).  It has a spot for change.  I love the retro cool pattern.  My favorite things though are that my daughter can't open it, it's waterproof and it holds a lot while limiting me so I don't over stuff it with unnecessary receipts and cards.

I recently ran across this website that posts the best deals on the Kohls' site.  I like to keep an eye on it for good sales on pajamas and play clothes for the kids but every once in awhile I come across something good for myself.  Today, they posted this cute Dolman sleeve cardigan for just $7.20.  It would be perfect over a simple tank top.  With all the rain we have had in New York, it's nice to have some layering pieces as the temperatures swing wildly between hot and cold.

I am considering these shorts.  I have big plans for the pool and beach with the kids as soon as the rain stops (please!!!).  They are not so short that I look like I think I am teenager or so long that I look matronly.  I like the color options and that they sit lower with out being "low rise."

Hit or Miss: Grab & Go Shopping at Target

Last weekend, I was with the entire family (husband + 2 kids) in Target on an early morning shopping spree to pick up birthday presents before a party that day.  Right by the check out, I spotted this dress and tossed it onto the belt as the checker was scanning.  Ever heard the saying "marry in haste, repent at leisure?"  When applied to my most recent purchase, it rings true.  On the positive side, it's a lovely dress that is pretty and lightweight.  It's flattering and can even double as a maternity dress according to a pregnant friend who also purchased it without making a non-pregnant wearer appear in the family way.  BUT a strapless dress and squirmy toddlers do not go hand in hand and the straps that are included are nearly useless as they popped free the instant I made any sudden movements.  I think I will keep it, but it won't be my first choice for any outings with the kids.
